Pinstripe XL is a collection designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune. The Pinstripe pattern was launched back in 2007, as a woven carpet for the Operakällaren restaurant in Stockholm. Inspiration for the pattern itself originally came from a photograph of Kevin Spacey wearing a pinstripe suit with a buttoned-up shirt. “That’s perfect”, thought Claesson Koivisto Rune, who used a pencil to draw a pinstripe pattern by hand, and then enlarged it. When the five-star Nobis Hotel opened in Stockholm, in 2010, Claesson Koivisto Rune breathed new life into Pinstripe and created a fresh version. This time it took the form of hand tufted rugs with the original design enlarged even further, hence Pinstripe XL. Pinstripe XL is a collection that exudes a sense of luxury and elegance through its quality, colour and simple, but sophisticated pattern. What is distinctive about Pinstripe XL is that the hand-drawn pinstripes have a totally different character, partly as a result of blowing up the pattern and partly due to the relief effect achieved by combining cut pile with bouclé. The collection is available in four colours and is made in wool and linen.
