The Landskab collection includes four design variants: two flatwoven and two hand-tufted rugs. The flatwoven rugs, Gryn and Korn, are described by Manz as "very thin, dense, dry, and hard like crispbread" and "coarse, robust, and thick," respectively. The hand-tufted rugs, Spire and Ålegræs, have different textures and heights, giving them distinctive and lively expressions.
With a carefully selected color palette, the collection features a soothing and balanced variety of colors with names such as Øresund, Kalk, Rimfrost, Strå, Klint, and Salvie. In Manz's own words, the harmonious palette with its timeless aesthetic was chosen to suggest subtle tones—neither too strong nor loud—colors that one would want to live with over time.
– We have created a collection of rugs that are not only beautiful but also functional and sustainable. We believe that design enthusiasts and homeowners alike will cherish these rugs for generations, says Lena Jiseborn, Head of Design at Kasthall.
ELEGANT SIMPLICITY
Inspired by a desire to create something valuable and quiet that maintains the highest standards of quality and expression, the Landskab collection was born.
– From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to include linen in the composition. It is one of the most beautiful raw materials, modest yet elegantly refined. Even in smaller amounts, it provides a beautiful brightness and reflection on the textile's surface, says Cecilie Manz.
Manz is well-known for her unique aesthetic, characterized by simplicity, purity, and functionality. Her designs express a sense of sensitivity and sensuality, qualities also evident in these rugs.
