Fasad by David Chipperfield Design

Written by kasthall | 12 March 2025

Kasthall adds a significant milestone to its sustainability journey with Fasad – a rug collection that rethinks the potential of recycled wool. In collaboration with the design office of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Sir David Chipperfield, Kasthall presents two new rug designs that are both timely and timeless – designed for today and enduring for years to come.

With Fasad, Kasthall is creating what it believes to be the world’s first rug collection using recycled post-consumer wool. Discover more about the process and the material.

The Fasad collection includes Uno and Duo – inspired by the brick façade of the Kasthall factory in Kinna, Sweden, with Uno featuring a uniform expression while Duo is defined by its structured design that consists of an even number of blocks. Both are presented in a natural, subdued color palette with glints of linen.

Wool has always been at the heart of Kasthall’s identity, and exploring the potential of this versatile material in innovative, ambitious ways is an important part of the company’s design ethos.
