When Kasthall Design Studio made the decision to relaunch the classic pattern Checkerboard from the Arkad pattern family, much time was spent on research to find just the right color combinations. The four different color combinations have drawn inspiration from the Scandinavian color palette, thus more subtle tones such as grey-green and light blue, but with the addition of two more contrasting colors such as yellow and midnight black in a checkered contrast to an off-white base. A combination of pattern and colors that will not grow old, yet always suited for modern homes.

If the factory is the pulsing heart of Kasthall, then the Design Studio is its brain. Located at the Kasthall headquarters in Kinna, it is the creative function of the product and design development.
